11 Jul 2020 Event CANCELLED

It will come as no great surprise that we have had to cancel this year’s Classic Boat Revival which was scheduled to take place over the weekend of 5th & 6th September. This is due to the ongoing difficulties caused by Covid 19.

It would have been our 10th Anniversary, so we will hope to celebrate that in 2021.  

While no 2021 date is fixed yet, we would hope to keep, what has become our preferred slot in the calendar, of the 1st or 2nd weekend of Sept 2021.

Sadly, 2020 will be severely curtailed for sailing and racing, but we hope that you will enjoy some time on the water with your ‘bubble crew’. On the bright side, you will have plenty of time to refurbish a suitable ‘classic’ to bring down to Bosham for our next event.

Looking ahead, we are keen to hear from any Class Association who might be due to celebrate a milestone event in the next few years with a view to our making that the theme of a future Classic Boat Revival. This would not be to the exclusion of other classes but a way of making the event more interesting. We are open to suggestions including a celebration of designers, builders or personalities who have played an important role in classic racing dinghy heritage, as we did for the official Ian Proctor Centenary in 2018.
