18 Sep Classic Boat Revival – post event news….
Post Event news
Slightly later than planned, but a quick follow up to the recent Classic Boat Revival….
1) Firstly we’d like to thank all those of you that entered this year and for those who couldn’t make it, we hope to see you in 2018.
We had 59 entries, across 21 classes with 122 or so people out on the water racing…..
It was great to see some new classes joining, including the International 12’s, Finn and the North Norfolk 16.
We’d like to try and encourage even more classes to enter, so if you have friends with suitable classic dinghies, please spread the word…..
2) Media and pics & results:
Incase you have not already seen these, please follow the links below:
– For a fab article by David Hensall in YachtsandYachting.com
– The results are here
– The pictures from the event are here
A video that will be produced in the coming weeks, to help promote the Revival and the wider Club activities, but in the meantime
Please feel free to circulate links to this, as we in hope it will encourage others to participate next year….
3) Next year’s dates:
we can confirm that the 2018 Classic Boat Revival will be held over the weekend of :
1st and 2nd September, 2018
…so please put that in your diary.
We are likely to stick with the first weekend in September as our regular slot, as this avoids conflict with the Goodwood Revival, when local accommodation is in short supply and prices are at a premium.
4)Finally, we welcome any feedback and suggestions as to how we might tweak and improve the event.
Thanks again to all who entered or help run the event…..and of course to our sponsors who help to make it all possible….
